About Us

Downtown Hound was created to fill a much-needed gap in downtown Omaha—a clean, modern, and compassionate facility dedicated to the well-being of dogs and cats. As a full-service daycare and boarding center, Downtown Hound offers a welcoming environment staffed by trained professionals who genuinely care for your pets.

Our facility features a spacious indoor play area where pets can socialize, exercise, and stay active in a safe, supervised setting. When it's time to rest, each pet has access to a private, comfortable space designed for relaxation. Our attentive staff ensures that every dog and cat receives personalized care, so you return to a happy, well-fed, and well-exercised companion. I boarded my 3 dogs there for a couple nights for the 1st time and they did such a good job with my dogs! One of my dogs is old and has a lot of health issues and they made sure to txt me with an update on how they were, giving me peace of mind! They also gave them each a cookie in their bag which was such a nice surprise for them! Will definitely go back!

I've been taking my dogs to Downtown Hound for probably years now and my dogs absolutely love that place! The prices are good- i've found it's cheaper than most places in the area. The facility is clean, there are usually people in the rooms with the dogs playing with them and loving on them. My dogs are always excited to go, and I love that they offer grooming services so they can get groomed while at daycare! It is an all indoor facility, so I feel like my dogs will come home and their paws will smell like pee, so that isn't always the best. I also wish they sent you photos throughout the day, but for the price, it's not a dealbreaker for me at all!

This place is amazingly flexible and understanding!! Max is a sweet dog but when it comes to socializing, he can be very cautious and not openly friendly with other dogs. This type of behavior made it a true challenge to find a place that would actually accommodate him and his needs for space and privacy. While discarding several other places in Omaha, I found Downtown Hound, and they agreed to take him in!! I’ve left Max with them several times now, and everytime we pick up Max, he’s happy and relaxed. He doesn’t even hesitate to go with the employees for the drop off time. I really love how they don’t discriminate dogs just because they don’t get along with other dogs. Forever my favorite dog boarding place!!
